Southwest Saddlery "Bareback Treeless
Saddles" are a classic bareback pad adaptation with an underlying treeless saddle design. We offer two basic material choices in this V-Girth model design: Suede for a firm grip seat and Cow Leather for a softer, smoother seat.. Both are affordably priced. Starting at $180.
Our Leather models have a plusher feel and
prettier soft cow leather. For more experienced
riders who can handle a little seat slippage, you will settle rght into the softer leather saddles for the most pleasure & comfort. Properly educated leg grip & ride form is required.
Our Suede models have assisted leg grip contact. The suede naps are 2 layers of cow hide (inner brushed layer is turned to outside) and thus they have greater surface resistance to break in. We also have a few discounted suede models with suede thinning.
Our saddles are flexible and acquire the basic shape and slopes of your horses back.
V-Girths offer the most flexibility in girth tensioning
and are easily adjusted foreward or rearward by sliding the girth ring across the v-loop - Girth and Assembly. Even positioning from side to side over the back is required - FAQs.
According to previous customers, these Bareback Treeless Saddles can be found useful for a variety of reasons including: Comfortable seat and Horse comfort can help sore backs (horse or rider); The stirrups have reportedly helped with knee pain caused by other saddles; Stirrups can be useful for long casual rides with bareback seat comfort; Advanced riders in tune with their horse are
likely to attain that shared feeling of freedom very quickly on a horse moving freely - at whatever gait or speed they choose.
A couple initial rider mishaps were reported back from riders who discounted the extra freedom in their horses giddyup coming out of the gate (or fitting thru one) and where there apparently wasn't time to adjust for proper stirrup clearance. These riders also reported it as a one time only issue as they had now taken this into account.
Potential results are pictured in the prototype at right. *Our
V-Girth Saddles differ slightly with a more resilient natural latex foam in the
seat pad for softer inner thigh protection - the pictured prototype model was
not latex and had less memory built into the foam. More patience is required
to break in the latex foam V-Girth saddles.
